Pre-requisites
Before starting, make sure you have the following:
WireGuard VPN Client installed on your device.
Download it here: WireGuard Installation
WireGuard VPN Client will be used later to securely connect your device to the router through the mTik_Ops VPN network.
Part 1 - Add Your Router to mTik_Ops
Follow these steps to register your router in the system.
Step 1 - Open the Router Management Panel
- Log in to your mTik_Ops account.
- Navigate to Managed Router.
Alternatively:
- Click User Panel in the top-right corner.
- Click + Add Router.
A setup wizard will appear to guide you through the automated configuration
Step 2 - Set Router Name
Enter a Router Name for easy identification.
Example:
Main Office Router
Branch Router 1
Click Next.
Step 3 - Enter Router Hostname or IP Address
Provide the local management IP address of your router.
Example:
192.168.1.1
This should be the same IP address you use to access the router via:
- WebFig
- WinBox
Click Next.
Step 4 - Set Router Credentials
Enter the router's username and password.
Important:
The account must have sufficient privileges to perform management tasks.
Click Next.
Step 5 - Optional Notes
You may add notes for documentation purposes.
Examples:
- Router location
- Network purpose
- Client information
You may also skip this step.
Click Continue.
Step 6 - Remote Access Check
You will now see the Remote Access Check option.
Select:
No, set up VPN now for remote access
This ensures secure access through the mTik_Ops VPN system.
Click Next.
Step 7 - Select VPN Server
Choose the server location:
PH Server
Click Next.
Step 8 - Review Router Details
Verify all information:
- Router Name
- Hostname/IP
- Credentials
- Selected VPN Server
If everything is correct:
Click Add Router
Step 9 - Automation Process
mTik_Ops will now begin the automated setup process.
Once the process is complete:
- Copy the generated MikroTik terminal script.
- Paste it into your router's terminal.
This script will:
- Establish a WireGuard VPN tunnel
- Allow secure remote management via mTik_Ops
- Not change your public IP
- Not interfere with your internet connection
Important:
The mTik_Ops VPN is strictly for secure remote management access only.
Part 2 - Add Your User Device VPN
You are not finished yet.
You must also create a VPN profile for the device you will use to connect to the router.
Step 10 - Go to Managed VPN
Navigate to:
Managed VPN
Click:
Add VPN
Why is this Required?
This VPN configuration allows your computer or mobile device to securely connect to your router through the mTik_Ops VPN network.
All connections are:
- Encrypted
- Authenticated
- Secure

Step 11 - Select VPN Server
Choose the same server used earlier:
PH Server
Click Next.
Step 12 - Select VPN Type
Choose:
USER DEVICE VPN
Click Next.
Step 13 - Name the Device
Enter a name for the device.
Examples:
- Admin Laptop
- Office PC
- Network Engineer Phone
This helps identify devices connected to the VPN.
Click Next.
Step 14 - Assign VPN IP Address
The system will automatically generate a VPN tunnel IP address.
Example:
- 10.x.x.x
You may change it if desired, but any available address will work.
Click Next.
Step 15 - VPN Configuration Settings
It is recommended to use the Default Settings.
Only modify settings if you fully understand the configuration.
Note:
We are not responsible for issues caused by incorrect VPN configuration changes.
Click Next.
Step 16 - Add More Devices (Optional)
You will be asked:
Do you want to set up another device?
Options:
- Yes â repeat the same process
- No â continue to the next step
Once finished, click:
Continue to Next Step
Step 17 - Review Configuration
You will now see the review panel showing all configured devices.
Verify:
- Device Name
- VPN IP Address
- Server Selection
If everything looks correct:
Click Next
Step 18 - Apply Configuration
Confirm the configuration.
Click:
Apply
The system will now automatically generate the WireGuard configuration for your device.
Please wait while the configuration is created.
Part 3 - Connect Your Device to the VPN
Once the configuration is ready:
- Click the Download button.
- A configuration file will be downloaded.
- Import to WireGuard
- Open the WireGuard VPN client.
- Click Import Tunnel.
- Select the downloaded configuration file.
- Activate or Connect.
- Mobile Setup (Optional)
If you are configuring a mobile device:
You may simply scan the QR code provided.
This will automatically import the VPN profile into the WireGuard app.
Setup Complete!
You can now securely connect to your router through mTik_Ops VPN.
