Why this matters
SMS is one of the fastest ways to reach subscribers, but only when it's governed well.
Without clear controls, teams run into issues like:
- Inconsistent message templates
- Misconfigured providers
- Limited visibility into delivery status
- No quick way to send urgent manual messages
This update fixes those pain points while keeping control where it belongs.
What's new in this release
1. A new Admin SMS Control Plane
Platform admins now have a single place to manage SMS operations globally.
You can now:
- Turn SMS on/off platform-wide with one switch
- Manage provider availability centrally
- Update provider endpoints in one place
- Configure and lock automation templates used across workspaces
- Preview template output before publishing
- In short: stronger governance, less guesswork.
2. A dedicated SMS Gateway workspace experience
Workspaces now get their own SMS Gateway section, designed for real operational use.
Teams can:
- Configure workspace SMS provider profiles
- Set active/default provider profiles
- Enable or disable automation events per workspace
- View recent SMS delivery logs in one screen
- This creates a clear separation:
- Admins define the guardrails, workspaces operate confidently within them.
3. Manual SMS sending from Subscriber Management
Need to send a quick message to a specific subscriber? You now can, directly from the subscriber workflow.
Authorized users can:
- Open a "Send SMS" action from subscriber management
- Use optional template shortcuts for speed
- Edit message content before sending
- Send without leaving the current workflow
- Itâs designed for urgent, practical communication moments.
4. Better automation outcomes and tracking
SMS automation now supports more lifecycle touchpoints, including key billing and subscriber events.
Delivery outcomes are clearer too, with improved visibility into:
- Sent
- Failed
- Skipped
This means better follow-up decisions and fewer blind spots.
5. Stronger access control and plan-aware availability
SMS access now follows role permissions and workspace plan eligibility more consistently.
Result:
- The right people can do the right actions
- Teams on eligible plans get the full feature set
- Read-only users are protected from accidental config changes
- Easier discovery inside the platform
- SMS pages and tools are now easier to find through updates to navigation, dashboard shortcuts, and search indexing.
Less hunting, faster execution.
What this means for your team
This release is about more than "adding SMS".
Itâs about making subscriber messaging dependable at scale.
You get:
- Centralized governance
- Safer workspace-level autonomy
- Faster manual outreach
- Better automation confidence
- Clearer operational visibility
And because communication is often where trust is built (or lost), these improvements directly support better subscriber experience.
We built this update for real operations teams doing real work under real time pressure.
If you've ever needed to send the right message at the right time without jumping through tools or approvals, this release is for you.
More improvements are on the way, but this is a big step toward making SMS a first-class, reliable channel across your entire platform.
