A Better Way to Send Subscriber Emails: Meet the New Mail From Name Setting

If you've ever sent a subscriber email and thought, "I wish this looked more like our brand," this update is for you. We've improved Email Notifications so each workspace can now define its own sender display name for subscriber-facing emails. Small setting, big difference: your emails now feel more trustworthy, recognizable, and professional the moment they land in someone’s inbox.

A Better Way to Send Subscriber Emails: Meet the New Mail From Name Setting

What's New

1) New Mail From Name setting in Email Notifications

You can now set the sender display name used in subscriber emails.

Example:

  • Acme Internet Notifications
  • Northside Fiber Support
  • BrightNet Billing Team

2) Automatic fallback if left blank

If you don't set a custom value, the system will automatically use:
{workspace/company name} Notifications

So even without manual setup, the sender identity still looks polished.

3) Cleaner, safer sender formatting

To improve email reliability, sender names are now sanitized and normalized behind the scenes (trimmed, cleaned, length-limited).
This helps prevent malformed headers and keeps delivery behavior stable.

4) Clearer navigation label

The sidebar label has been simplified from Workflow Email Notifications to Email Notifications, making it easier to find.

Why This Matters (In Plain Terms)

People decide in seconds whether an email feels legitimate.

When the sender name is clear and familiar, recipients are more likely to:

  1. Open the email
  2. Trust the message
  3. Act on account and billing notices faster

This update helps your workspace "sound" like your brand, not a generic system sender.

Quick Guide: How to Check, Update, or Customize It

Step 1: Open Email Notification Settings

  1. Go to your workspace.
  2. In the sidebar, open Email Notifications.
  3. Look for the Mail From Name field.

Step 2: Check the current value

  • If the field has text, that value is currently being used.
  • If the field is blank, the platform is using the default pattern: {workspace/company name} Notifications

Step 3: Customize it

  1. Enter your preferred sender display name.
  2. Keep it simple and brand-recognizable.
  3. Save settings.

Good examples:

  • Skyline Broadband Notifications
  • Acme ISP Customer Care
  • MetroNet Account Alerts
  • Internet Services LLC.
  • MyCompany Updates
  • YourCompany Alerts

Step 4: Verify

  • Trigger a subscriber-facing email flow (for example: a notification event).
  • Check the inbox and inspect the "From" display name.
  • Confirm it matches your expected branding.

Recommended Naming Style

If you're unsure what to use, this format works well:

[Brand/Workspace Name] + [Purpose]

Examples:

  • mTikOps Notifications
  • mTikOps Billing
  • mTikOps Service Updates

Troubleshooting Tips

If the sender name doesn't look updated right away:

  1. Re-open Email Notifications and confirm the saved value.
  2. Send a fresh test email (don’t rely on older messages).
  3. Check if the field was left blank (blank = fallback mode).
  4. Confirm you're testing a subscriber-facing email flow.

This is one of those quality-of-life updates that quietly improves customer communication every day.
No complicated setup, no migration work, just better brand clarity in every subscriber email your workspace sends.

If you manage multiple workspaces, it’s worth setting a custom Mail From Name in each one so every customer touchpoint feels intentional and consistent.
